I've spent 45 years helping clients plan vacations, and one of the things I've learned is that the right trip looks different for everyone. Getting to know my clients and understanding how they actually want to spend their time away is still one of my favorite parts of being a travel advisor.

I have extensive experience planning vacations to the Caribbean, Mexico, Greece and Italy, as well as cruises worldwide. In addition to these destinations, I've traveled to Hawaii, Portugal and Amsterdam, which gives me firsthand knowledge I can use when helping clients decide where to stay, what to experience and which destination is the best fit for them.

One of my own memorable travel experiences was cruising along the Rhine. Experiences like that allow me to give clients more than information they could find online. I can share what the experience is actually like and help them decide whether it fits the way they like to travel.

After 45 years in the industry, I've also seen just about every kind of travel hiccup. When plans change or something unexpected happens, my clients know they have an experienced travel advisor in their corner who can help them navigate it.

One travel tip I always share? Pack an extra set of clothes and a bathing suit in your carry-on. If your checked luggage decides to take a different vacation than you do, you'll be glad you came prepared.
